I met Colin at his house. He was already changed and ready to go... Fortunately the sun had come out in the last few minutes before I got there. Spirits were up. We headed out over wet roads and tracks up towards Edlesborough. But as it was so muddy we couldn't take the track as planned, so we put in a 4mile road detour via Slapton. Fine really at Ivinghoe we climbed up to Barley End and then offroad to the Ashridge Beacon. It was very muddy climbing up the chalky track. At the Beacon was stopped for about 10 mins for a cuppa, it started to rain again.

After T we took the track to Step Hills and the 250m peak. We descended on the road to Dagnall. Past the giant rabbit enclosure that is Whipsnade and right up to Whipsnade itself. I felt a bit crap up the climb. Colin was firing.... It started to get a dark and COlin found a track that had become a small stream. It was easier to ride down the water than the greasy sides. Colin fell off. I nearly did.

Good ride. Glad I got shot of the Xmas virus now.
